Camera Basics Workshop | Central Coast Photography Mentor | Pismo Beach Photography Workshop

I love to inspire. I love to teach. I love to ignite passion within oneself.

I was asked about a year ago, "where do you see yourself in five years?" I said, "Even more successful and also leading workshops and mentoring photographers." She then asked me, "why wait for five years?"

I can definitely say I have been a photographer all of my life. Because I was always that kid with a disposable camera in my hand. And then in High School I took a film photo class. Because I'm that old, and we didn't have digital cameras back then! Ha. My Mom got me a Canon 35mm camera when I graduated highschool. And I used that to take pictures of my first child, complete with the whole Holiday set ups in front of the Christmas tree, or in a gigantic Easter basket. I was onto something...I got my first DSLR when my second child was born in 2006. And I was like "I WILL be a REAL photographer." And thats when this journey ignited. I started taking photos of my kids, my nieces and nephews, my cousins kids, and then before I knew it, I was being asked by strangers to take their photos.

I look back on those photos, and I cringe. I had NO idea what I was doing. My camera never left "auto mode" and everyone was squinting because I had them facing the direct sun. *face palm*

Over the years my passion grew. My images may not have been feature worthy, but my passion was no less. I spent YEARS and YEARS learning, and by trial and error. I took a college class to learn. I took the long hard road and learned from years of mistakes. And thats what brings me to this place I am in today. I want to teach everyone with a DSLR how to get perfect photos straight out of camera. Whether it's for your kids sports games, or because you are just absolutely obsessed with your new sweet baby and you REFUSE to miss any opportunity to photograph that little babe. Or maybe you just love taking photos of nature. I literally consider photography my therapy. I get so lost in the moment and my heart gets filled with so much joy. And I want you to experience that as well.

If you are looking to get your camera out of AUTO and learn how to work with light through the lens, I have the perfect workshop for you.

I offer this class in a group setting or one on one. You can check to see when the next group workshop is here. If you want to have my undivided attention and have a one on one workshop, you can sign up here.

I’m looking forward to helping you plant the seeds to grow your knowledge!

xoxo,

DeeDee
