Being a newborn photographer on the Central Coast is the best. I get to snuggle little babies, I get to dress them up in adorable little outfits and I get to meet some of the best families in our community. But do you know what my favorite part is? Getting the talk with the Mama about her birth story. After I had my first child, I actually thought a lot about becoming a midwife. I wanted to be a part of bringing life into this world. Then life just kept on going and that goal got put on the back burner. Today, I don't think I could handle being on call 24-7 that. Major props to all of you with on call careers! Although, I do have a burning desire to photograph a birth, so if you want to document your birth PLEASE tell me! That is something I'd totally prioritize to be on call for and I don't have to go through more schooling for that! :p
During my newborn sessions, naturally one main topics is labor and delivery. I am so fascinated with hearing each mamas story. I fully believe us women are warriors. No matter how we bring life into this world, WE ARE WARRIORS.
Natalie Garay, with Ther•Happy in San Luis Obispo, came to me and wanted to collaborate for a project to share your birth stories. We want to tell your stories to encourage and unite all Mamas in our community. If you want to be a part of this project, please reach out. We would love to hear your story!
You can contact myself or Natalie by sending either of us a quick message telling us you want to be a part of our project.
